On the sidelines of the African and Arab University Students Forum organized by an Algerian economic operator in Mostaganem, Amin Boutalbi, head of the Arab African Center for Investment and Development, said that the eighth edition of the Africa Investment and Trade Forum will record the participation of up to 170 foreign economic operators from different countries, such as; China, Russia, Italy, Greece, Mexico, India, Canada, Switzerland, France, Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Lebanon.
Libya and the Democratic Republic of Congo will be the guests of honor of this edition, leading important delegations to discuss the potentials of these two African countries in the economic field, identify opportunities for all-out cooperation and forge important partnerships with Algeria, added the same official.
During this forum, several issues will be tackled, including, among others, the promising investment opportunities offered by Africa, especially in post-Coronavirus pandemic and after the entry into service of the African Free Trade Area Agreement, which transformed the continental market (1.3 billion people) into the second largest market in the world after China.
On the occasion, the organizers are also betting on supporting Algerian exports towards Africa, raising trade exchanges with African countries, especially non-hydrocarbon products, and exchanging experiences and technologies in the field of manufacturing, agricultural and mining industries.
“During this edition, which bears the slogan “Africa of the Future,” economic seminars will be organized on the various challenges facing the African continent, and an exhibition of participating economic operators, highlighting the capabilities of export, trade and investment, as well as bilateral and multilateral business meetings between the various participants, will be held,” concluded the official.
