Revealed: the airlines with the best in-flight food
MoneySuperMarket have analysed a staggering 27,000 passenger reviews to see which operator’s in-flight meals are first-class
There are loads of factors that can make a flight unbearable: long delays, a lack of legroom, even sitting next to someone you don’t want to. But having to make do with a claggy microwaved meal can make that long-haul journey feel ten times longer.
In-flight meals have got a bit of a bad rep, but if you fly with the right airline, you might be pleasantly surprised. And thanks to a new study from comparison website MoneySuperMarket, we can shed some light on the operators who know how to pack some flavour.
The comparison website analysed a staggering 27,000 customer reviews of over more than 100 airlines to see which have the best on-board meals, and the results are in.
Claiming the top spot with an impressive average score of 8.6 out of 10 across all cabin classes was Kuwait Airways, which offers a range of food from multi-course options in economy to lobster and beef in their ‘Royal Class’ service.
In second place it was Oman Air which scored 8.44 and in third it was Middle Eastern Airlines which scored 8.39. In fact, airlines based in the Middle East did very well across the board, with other operators such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, and Gulf Air all scoring at least 7.4 on average.
