The Ministry of Environment is granting support to more than 400 young project holders in the field of green economy, in order to enable them to give a concrete form to their innovative ideas on the ground, according to an official in the ministry.
The Ministry established, in this regard, an internal cell to support small size enterprises and startups holding projects related to the environment and green economy, with the aim of directing them and providing them with the necessary information, especially with regard to the procedural aspect.
The cell has received more than 400 files since its creation last November, and it is currently seeking to support these young entrepreneurs, according to the cell’s head, Reda El Arbi Youyou, who stressed that the aim of these measures taken by the ministry for the benefit of project holders is to develop a circular economy and a green economy.
These projects concern waste collection, segregation and recycling, with a special emphasis laid on organic waste and its conversion into natural fertilizers, as well as the recycling of solid waste left by the construction sector, in addition to waste that has a high added value related to electronic and electrical equipment and glass, the same official added.
These projects also grant a great importance to innovative ideas in the field of communication and awareness raising about the environment and the green economy, digital platforms dedicated to the environment sector, air quality, biodiversity, ecological agriculture, urban sanitation, wastewater and everything related to environmental policy.
The holders of these projects are received twice a month by the members of the cell at the headquarters of the Ministry of Environment, after filling out forms on the ministry’s website.
El-Arbi Youyou explained that the work of the orientation cell is to support and guide young people holding these projects with regard to administrative procedures as well as with regard to all technical aspects related to their projects.
These young people benefit from the advice and opinions of specialists in the field about the importance of these projects for the environmental sector and from the facilitation of contact with relevant parties, as well as the facilitation of procedures that allow them to fulfill their feelings.
Among the cell’s measures to ensure effective support is to publish the innovative projects of the actors concerned, provide training sessions for young people, and follow-up their projects.
As for the problems and obstacles facing these young project-holders, Youyou pointed out that it is difficult to obtain the financing and industrial real estate, in addition to the lack of awareness of these young people with the administrative procedures and administrative bodies responsible for managing projects and the lack of technical expertise related to the completion of such projects.
