A concert of music mixing flamenco, châabi, folk and Diwane, was animated Thursday evening in Algiers by the group El Dey in front of a large audience, required to strictly comply with health prevention measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
Hosted under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture and Arts at the Ibn Zeydoun room of the Office Riadh El Feth (Oref), the concert was organized by the French Institute of Algiers in collaboration with l’Oref, in the occasion of the International Music Day, celebrated on June 21 of each year which aims, among other things, to establish links and exchanges between the cultures of the world.

In euphoric atmospheres, the group El Dey performed, for nearly two hours, a dozen pieces, merging several musical styles, like diwane, flamenco, chaabi, samba, salsa, reggae, among other things, to the pleasure of a conquered audience who savored every moment of the concert with delight.
A beautiful orchestral fusion, animated by Samir Merabet on vocals and guitar, Abraz Ahmed Dallel on vocals and percussion, Najib Gammoura on bass, Nazim Bakour on guitar, Hassen Zemrani on saxophone, Mourad Bouafia on percussion, Samy Feddag on keyboard and Rabah Hadjal on drums, of which this is the first concert on stage, took the audience on a dreamlike hike through beautiful modal and rhythmic variations which recalled the richness and diversity of Algerian musical heritage.
