ALGIERS- One week before Eid El Adha, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has decreed new pardon measures. This time, it concerns the baccalaureate candidates convicted of cheating.
According to a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, up to sixty people will be pardoned on this occasion. “They will join their families before the end of the current week,” the statement said.
This pardon exclusively affects young baccalaureate candidates convicted of cheating. It comes a little more than ten days after the clemency measures decided on for the benefit of eighteen detainees at Hirak.
On July 4, the eve of the 59th anniversary of Independence Day, President Tebboune pardoned the detainees tried for assembly and similar acts.
