The Somiphos Phosphate Mines Company (formerly Ferphos) has exported since the beginning of the current year one (1) million tonnes of phosphate from the port of Annaba reported this company yesterday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the shipment of 63,000 tonnes of phosphate, representing the last shipment to India and Greece in the first half of 2021, the CEO of Somiphos, Mokhtar Lekhal affirmed that this quantity of phosphate exported represents a 100% increase in the Company’s export capacities compared to 2020.
The Somiphos Company also plans to export one (1) million tonnes during the second semester of the current year, thus reaching a total volume of exports of two (2) million tonnes during fiscal year 2021, added his CEO. Phosphate extraction capacities in Djebel El Onk (wilaya of Tébessa) tend to increase to reach in the medium term four (4) million tonnes, said Lekhal.
