Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Mr. Ramtane Lamamra, will participate tomorrow, Thursday, in Cairo, in the proceedings of the regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, according to a ministry statement.
The agenda of this session includes a number of current political issues, on top of which are the developments of the Palestinian cause and the developments in a number of Arab countries such as Syria, Libya and Yemen, the fight against terrorism and the evacuation of the Middle East from weapons of mass destruction, according to the same statement.
In this context, the statement adds, “Algeria’s participation aims to emphasize its firm positions on Arab issues, especially its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, as well as re-presenting its peaceful approach that relies on dialogue and political solutions to settle the crises besetting by some sister Arab countries while rejecting foreign interference.” .
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algeria “will seize this opportunity to call for the adoption of a joint Arab action methodology that relies on modern foundations that bear dimensions that respond to the requirements of the current situation.”
Mr. Lamamra is expected to hold, on the sidelines of this session, a series of bilateral talks with some of his Arab counterparts on the continuous strengthening of bilateral cooperation relations as well as several Arab, regional and international issues.
