President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, supervised, today, Thursday, at People’s Palace venue, a ceremony honoring the Algerian champions participating in the Para-Olympic Games, in Tokyo, who honored the national flag and the Algerian sport in this international sports forum.
The honoring ceremony took place in the presence of the Speaker of Coucil of Nation Salah Goudjil, Speaker of People’s National Assembly Brahim Boughali, President of the Constitutional Council Kamel Fenniche, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Aïmene Benabderrahmane, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic Noureddine Bagdad Daidj, and advisors to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Lieutenant-General Saïd Chanegriha, as well as members of the government and a number of state officials.
For reference, the Algerian athletes won 12 medals (4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze), with two world records breaking of a total of 67 records recorded in Tokyo, not to mention four African records, in addition to gaining the best individual results.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics also witnessed the brilliance of Algerian Ismahan Boudjaadar in the shot put (P33) by crowning her with gold and a record in the Olympics (7,10 metres), moving away from her competitions with a total of 38 centimeters.
The first to win the gold medal in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo was wrestler Shirine Abdellaoui in judo category (-52 kg) with Ippon , to confirm her superiority against high-level wrestlers.
