The Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Mr. Abderrachid Tabi and President of the 37th session of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, will participate tomorrow, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Grand Serail in Beirut, in the award ceremony of the three winners of the Arab Prize for the best doctoral thesis in legal and judicial sciences, which was created pursuant to the council’s decision issued on November 21, 2019. The ceremony will be held under the patronage and presence of the Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
On the sidelines of his visit, today, Friday, February 25, 2022, , the Minister, accompanied by the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, President of the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research, was received at the Lebanese Presidential Palace by the President of the Lebanese Republic, General Michel Aoun, who stressed the importance of strengthening Joint Arab action.
Mr. Tabi conveyed, on the occasion, the greetings to the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Lebanese President Michel Aoun.
The Minister was also received by the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri.
On the occasion of his presence in Lebanon, the Minister of Justice will sign, tomorrow, Saturday, with his Lebanese counterpart, Minister of Justice, Mr. Henry El Khoury, two judicial agreements, the first relating to judicial cooperation in the penal field, while the second relates to the extradition of criminals, the signing will be preceded by talks between the two sides on ways to activate this cooperation between the two countries.
It should be noted that the first and third winners of the Arab contest for the best doctoral thesis are from Algeria.
