President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, welcomed Monday, the “leading roles” and “vital missions” of women throughout the history of Algeria, and their determination in the face of the current challenges.
“This day, which represents the values of freedom, equality and human dignity, offers us an excellent opportunity to express our pride in the women of Algeria,” said the President of the Republic in a message read on his behalf by Premier, Aymen benabderrahmane, at a ceremony organized in honor of Algerian women on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.
President Tebboune stressed that Algeria has enshrined in its constitution the concept of parity between men and women in all spheres of life and the protection of women against all forms of abuse.
Highlighting the pivotal role of Algerian women, “ in terms of political empowerment and participation in economic recovery,” the Head of State also noted “the enshrinement of the principle of equity in access to senior positions and protection against all forms of violence under a legal framework in line with national constants and in accordance with international commitments.
President Tebboune expressed, in the same vein, his “gratitude” to the Algerian woman welcoming “the leading roles and vital missions she has never ceased to assume throughout the history of our country. A history marked by exceptional women that the memory will retain and respect.”
