TIZI-OUZOU-Two fishing boats manufactured by an Algerian company, which will be delivered shortly to Mauritania, were presented Thursday at the shipyard of Azeffoun, 70 km north-east of Tizi-Ouzou.
These are two boats made of fiberglass, 14 meters long, type “small trade”, manufactured by the Company Algeria-Korea marine service (SARL SAKOMAS, private law), which will be shipped in a few days to Mauritania, via the port of Algiers, said the representative of the Ministry of Fisheries and Fisheries Productions, Amar Belassel.
This central director said during his speech at the shipyard Sakomas, on the occasion of the presentation of these two boats to be exported, “this is the first export operation of this type of product nationally.
This operation is part of the government’s strategy to diversify the national economy and encourage Algerian companies to go to export, was to be realized in spring 2020, but it was delayed because of the pandemic Covid-19, said Belassel.
The presentation of the boats is the first step in the export process, it will be followed by their transport, by land to the port of Algiers to be exported to Mauritania by sea, taking advantage of the new shipping line Algiers-Nouakchott, Sakomas has learned.
The CEO of Sakomas, Nour El Islam Benaoudia, told APS, that this is a first order for the manufacture of two fishing boats of 14 meters, placed by a Mauritanian customer, adding that Sakomas has also received orders to build boats from Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire.
According to the technical specifications of the two boats, they are two 14-meter boats with a speed of 16 knots, equipped with, among other things, a freshwater tank with a capacity of 600 liters, a wheelhouse, 9 fish holds with a total capacity of 10m3 and a diesel tank of 1000 liters.
