ALGIERS – The fourth edition of the “Algeria Startup Challenge” (ASC) program has just been launched, the organizers of this event dedicated to startups, innovation and technologies announced on Monday.
This fourth edition will be sponsored by the Ministry in charge of the Knowledge Economy and startups, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Fisheries and Fisheries Productions, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said in a statement the incubator “Leancubator”, organizer of the competition.
This new edition will be organized in the form of specialized challenges including the Foodtech Startup Challenge, dedicated to Agrotech, Agritech and Aquatech startups and innovations with the theme of innovation for food safety.
Another challenge entitled Fintech Startup Challenge is planned, dedicated to Fintech, Insurtech and Legaltech startups and innovations with the theme “Innovation at the service of the financial sector”, which will be organized in partnership with the Commission d’organisation de la surveillance des opérations bourse (COSOB) in collaboration with the actors of the financial sector, banks, insurance and legal.
The third HealthTech Startup Challenge, organized in partnership with players from the health sector, the pharmaceutical industry and the nutraceutical industry, will be dedicated to Biotech Pharma, Medtech and dietary supplements startups and innovations with the theme “Innovation at the service of health and well-being”.
The call for innovation for this 4th edition will be launched “very soon” on the official website of the program, as well as on the Soolvit open innovation platform for startups and innovative project leaders, the organizer said.
ASC will close with a final annual event where ecosystem actors will gather to discuss current topics as well as discover the latest novelties and the best innovations carried by participating startups and partner companies, which will be honored at the ceremony, the statement stressed.
The ASC program, which has been working since 2018 in the company of companies and institutions committed to supporting a new generation of innovators and startups in the sectors of the future, had organized more than 16 challenges and accompanied more than 4000 startups and project leaders.
This program won several awards in 2021, including that of the best skills development and innovation support program for 2021-2022 at the Western Mediterranean level at the WestMED initiative Awards in Rome and the active contributor award to the goals of the World Food Day WMA2021 by FAO Algeria.
