During the first four months of the current year, Algeria achieved 40 percent of its goals to reach $7 billion in non-oil exports, according to what was confirmed by the Sub-Director of Follow-up and Support for Exports at the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion, Abdellatif El Hawary.
Abdellatif El-Hawary said in a statement to the “Morning Guest” program of the first radio channel, today, Thursday, that the proceeds of the first four months of the current year for Algeria’s exports outside hydrocarbons rose by 82 percent compared to the same period last year, to reach $2.2 billion, despite the ban on some products from export.
The same spokesman stressed the state’s determination to increase inter-Arab and African exchanges, especially in light of the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement at the beginning of next July.
In the same context, the official at the Ministry of Trade said that the African market is considered a promising market due to the short distances, noting that during six months of 2021, $300 million worth of Algerian products were exported, including $150 million destined for West African countries, especially the neighboring border countries. And this is after the decision to reopen the borders by the country’s higher authorities.
With regard to the opening of marine lines and its impact on the recovery of commercial mobility, El Hawary explained that work is underway to open a new marine line between the port of Djen Djen and the Senegalese port of Dakar, praising the efforts of the “Logitrans complex” to market Algerian products, especially in the brown continent.
In his speech, Abdel Latif Al-Hawari touched on the number of obstacles faced by the National Agency for the Promotion of Exports “ALJEX”, to persuade economic dealers and owners of micro-enterprises to enter the field of export, indicating their fear of going through the experiment, and for this purpose – the spokesman adds – the ministry is keen to organize awareness days And open doors to record the concerns of dealers and producers, in addition to providing and explaining .the various administrative and logistical guarantees provided by the state to accompany economic dealers
