The Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, Fayez Ali Mutairi, saluted today, Monday in Algeria, the giant steps taken by Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the field of social dialogue.
Mutairi added, in a speech during the work of the special session of the General Assembly of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and similar bodies, that “Algeria is considered one of the first and pioneering countries in involving all economic and social parties in a social dialogue that included all groups without marginalizing any group.”
He added that “Algeria did not hesitate to ratify the international and Arab agreements related to social dialogue and to implement them on the ground through tripartite and bilateral negotiations and collective agreements.”
He said that the Arab Labor Organization, as a partner and companion for decision-making since its establishment, has renewed its firm belief in the importance of social dialogue and the role of the actors in it, headed by the Union (formerly the Association) in achieving economic and social development in Arab countries, social harmony and addressing various crises. And limit its repercussions on Arab countries.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Union, Jafari Muhammad Amin, stated that this extraordinary meeting will come up with decisions and recommendations that work to re-launch its activity, stressing that the Union must be strong with its proposals, a model for consultation and dialogue, and a leading institution in studies and research to help Arab governments to achieve their goals. Drawing public policies to achieve the advancement and prosperity of its people.
During the session, Algeria, represented by the President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council,
Sidi Mohamed Bouchnak Kheladi, was recommended as President of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and similar bodies, with Algeria hosting the Union headquarters.
