On Wednesday, the Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies, Ben Atou Zayan, received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Algeria, Youssef Sebaa Al Ali, accompanied by a delegation from the Emirati company “Masdar”, at the ministry’s headquarters.
According to a statement by the ministry, during the meeting, the two sides emphasized the strong bilateral relations that exist between the two brotherly countries, and the importance that Algeria attaches to the UAE state at various levels and fields.
The ambassador also affirmed his country’s desire to invest in the field of renewable energies, expressing that the UAE is committed to ensuring quality, price and continuity, by participating in international tenders that are opened for all UAE companies to compete for these deals.
In this context, the minister added that the Algerian government has developed a national strategy aimed at developing and raising the production of renewable energies with a total capacity of 15,000 megawatts in the horizons of 2035 by 1,000 megawatts annually. Towards the exploitation of clean energy sources within the framework of the energy transition.
On the other hand, Mohammed bin Aboud Al Shehhi, Director of Tenders and Supply Chains Department at Masdar Company, presented a presentation. The company’s experience and projects in the field of developing commercially feasible renewable energy projects in the Middle East and North Africa region and global markets and supporting innovation in the field of clean technology represented in onshore and offshore wind energy, solar photovoltaic energy, green hydrogen, energy valuation for waste, as well as being one of the most Cities of the world are sustainable and provide platforms that specialize in knowledge and business to stimulate further growth in the renewable energy and clean technologies sector.
The two parties also shared a common view on ways and prospects for cooperation, by engineering a growing partnership between the two brotherly countries that includes exchanging experiences, skills and knowledge and valuing their uses.
