More than 2,000 people shared, on Friday, a collective Iftar at Place Audin in Algiers Center as part of the solidarity program drawn up on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadhan, and gave a beautiful image of solidarity between the different fringes of Algerian society.
The president of the town of Algiers Center, Mahdia Benghalia indicated in a statement on the occasion that “this initiative is part of the cultural and solidarity program drawn up by the town of Algiers center on the occasion of the sacred month, through the organization of a collective Iftar for the benefit of more than 2000 people from the Grande Poste to Place Audin”.
“After a shutdown of several years induced by the Covid-19 pandemic which affected all countries of the world, this collective Iftar aims to highlight the values of solidarity between members of society”, she said. underlined, adding that “the Algerian families gathered around a single table to share the various traditional Algerian dishes prepared especially for this occasion”.
The collective Iftar was initiated by the municipality of Algiers Center with the participation of the workers of the municipality, the inhabitants and the actors of the civil society, indicated Mrs. Benghalia who was delighted with “the adhesion of all the fringes of civil society for this charity initiative”.
The event saw the organization of several leisure activities and art shows for children and families at the Grande Poste and Place Maurice-Audin. The collective Iftar also saw the participation, in addition to Algerian families who came in large numbers, of several artists and students as well as foreign nationals.
