ALGIERS – The Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, chaired, Monday in Algiers, the installation ceremony of a high-level commission composed of cinema personalities and historians, responsible for evaluating and enrich the specifications for the selection of a script for the film on Emir Abdelkader, as well as evaluate and approve the script proposals which will be presented as part of an international competition, indicates a press release from the ministry .
“As part of the ongoing preparations for the launch of a project to produce an international film on Emir Abdelkader, the Minister of Culture and Arts chaired, on the occasion of the 191st anniversary of allegiance at the Emir Abdelkader, the installation ceremony of a high-level commission composed of great personalities of cinema and historians”, specifies the press release.

According to the same press release, this commission “will have the mission of evaluating and enriching the specifications for the selection of the film scenario, as well as evaluating and approving the scenario proposals which will be presented as part of the ‘an international competition’.
The commission is made up of the film critic, Ahmed Bedjaoui, the historian, Djamel Yahiaoui, the novelist Waciny Laredj, professor Mostéfa Khiati, and the film producer, Yacine Medkour.
