A multitude of Algerian artists, accompanied by the symphonic orchestra of the Opera of Algiers Boualem-Bessaih, held a solidarity concert on Saturday night in support of the population of Gaza, currently facing a genocide perpetrated by the Zionist entity.
The event, held under the slogan ‘Peace for Palestine,’ took place at the Opera of Algiers and was attended by the President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, government officials, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Algiers, Fayez Abu Aïta, and the President of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Bamba Meguett, along with the accompanying delegation, as well as representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria.

The choir of the Ain Benian School inaugurated the evening with the song ‘Our House Al-Qods,’ written by Mustapha Alouan, followed by the rendition of a classical piece titled ‘La force du destin’ by the Italian Giuseppe Verdi.
The songs ‘Win El Malayine’ and ‘Zahrat El Madaïne’ were performed by Manel Gharbi and Nada Erayhane, respectively.
The audience also resonated with musical excerpts performed by the Polyphonic Choir of Algiers, including the song ‘Leve Palestina’ by the Palestinian artist exiled in Sweden, George Totari.
Artist Hassan Kechache recited revolutionary poems by the renowned Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darouiche, expressing the sufferings of the Palestinian people and their aspirations for freedom and liberation from colonial oppression.
The Minister of Culture and Arts stated that ‘through this solidarity gala, Algerian artists wanted to express their support for the resilient Palestinian people on behalf of Algeria, both its people and leaders,’ emphasizing that ‘about 150 artists have created works on the Palestinian cause, which, as highlighted by the President of the Republic, is a national cause par excellence.’
Mrs. Mouloudji added that ‘the voice of the artists today will be to confront obscurantism and the blatant violation of human rights that our Palestinian brothers undergo in Gaza,’ emphasizing the possibility of organizing such artistic activities in solidarity with Palestine.
The Director-General of the Opera of Algiers, Abdelkader Bouazzara, mentioned that the proceeds from this gala, dedicated to the Palestinian people, ‘signify solidarity and commitment to the Palestinians who are enduring martyrdom in the Gaza Strip.’
In turn, the Ambassador of Palestine in Algeria praised this initiative, expressing the support and solidarity of the Algerian people with Palestine, as well as Algeria’s steadfast position in favor of the Palestinian cause.
