The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, stated on Saturday that the trust he has placed in the youth has enabled Algeria to become a leader in startup creation in Africa.
During his periodic meeting with representatives of the national media, the President highlighted the contribution of Algerian youth to the promotion of the country’s economy, recalling that he was “the candidate of the youth” during the 2019 Presidential elections.
“At that time, I focused my electoral program on civil society and youth, to whom I pledged to entrust power, and I continue this approach because they constitute the majority in Algeria,” he said.
The President also praised the level reached by Algerian youth, who “now want assistance in launching their own projects rather than obtaining employment,” which has enabled Algeria to “become a leader in startup creation in Africa,” he rejoiced.
Regarding the expression “Aami Tebboune” (uncle Tebboune) cherished by many Algerian youth, the President said: “I have always had a special affection for the youth of my country, and this nickname reflects the paternal relationship I have with them and testifies to Algeria’s return to its roots.”
