Algeria advanced by 30 places in the latest classification of the Speed Test Ookla index for the month of October 2021, regarding the speed of the Internet for fixed high traffic, as it rose from the 171st place recorded last September to the 141st place.
The company that issues the rating attributed this “significant” upgrade in the rating to the high speed of Internet flow for the total subscriber fold in Algeria, while maintaining the same pricing during 2021, in addition to a new standard in preparing this classification.
Ookla indicated on its website that, as of November, it will “also” include “data on average results that reflect the speeds a user can reach.”
The company also confirmed that this criterion for the average speed is the only one that is considered in preparing the classification, starting from February 15, 2022.
Thus, Algeria ranks among the countries that have benefited from the new method of calculating fixed Internet flow speeds, while Venezuela is considered the country that lost the most its position (-35), dropping from 129 to 164.
