ALGIERS- Algeria will chair African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) next May, a chairmanship that will be devoted to advancing AU’s peace and security agenda.
To this end, Algeria will work with its peers in the Council to face the current security challenges of the continent and to advance the AU peace and security agenda.
The presidency of Algeria will be marked by important meetings on the situations in Libya and Mali as well as other thematic sessions in connection with the current health context induced by the global pandemic of the Covid-19.
The agenda proposedة in this contextة testifies to Algeria’s strong will to lead the Council in order to respond to multiple challenges and to assert its place as a central body at the continental level.
