The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, and the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdel Rahman Jamal Lotfi bin Bahamed, will participate Thursday and Friday in Lusaka (Zambia) in the work of the 41st session of the Executive Council of the African Union, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“During this session, the foreign ministers of the 55 member states of the African Union will address several issues related to the implementation of the Continental Agenda for Peace, Security, Development and Integration,” the statement adds.
“Measures will also be adopted that will catalyze the work of existing cooperation frameworks and enhance the actual operational activity of new African institutions, such as the African Medicines Agency (AMA).”
The draft agenda also includes the study of several reports related, respectively, to “migration, refugees and displaced persons”, “health, population and drug control” and “regional and intercontinental infrastructure”, in addition to the issue of food security.
Finally, the Executive Council will study the draft budget of the African Union for the year 2023, and elect new members for some subsidiary bodies, such as the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the African Union Anti-Corruption Advisory Council and the Group of the Wise
