At a high-profile conference on peace and security in Africa, Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, held bilateral discussions with his counterparts from Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and Tunisia. In another significant development, Tayeb Zitouni, the Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, confirmed Algeria’s official membership in the Guided Trade Initiative. This move is part of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement. Zitouni also engaged in discussions with the Secretary General of the AfCFTA, the chief of mission of the IMF, and the Tanzanian Minister of Trade to bolster bilateral cooperation.
Algeria’s Expanding Diplomatic Relations

The country’s Foreign Minister Laaziz Faid and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen deliberated on Algeria’s potential support for Bangladesh’s energy requirements and prospective partnerships in sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, ICT, defense, construction, edible oil, and agriculture. Additionally, Algeria’s new Ambassador to Uganda, Mohamed Khelifi, pledged to reinforce and expand bilateral relationships with Uganda, including increasing the number of scholarships for Ugandan students.
