The Director of Energy Transition at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies Zine El Abidine Boumelit said today, Sunday, that Algeria is on the verge of implementing the largest energy project in Africa.
In a statement to Radio Channel 1, Boumelit explained that the project requires training and local industry to ensure a sustainable economy, and to preserve Algeria’s wealth in hydrocarbons.
The speaker valued the involvement of producers, whether public or private, in this endeavor, as active partners, such as the industry sector, which plays an important role in supporting the energy transition, by providing lamps, water heaters and solar panels.
In the same context, Boumelit revealed the conclusion of an agreement for a project to popularize public lighting, using solar energy and advanced energy that relies on the type of “light-emitting diode” LED, in the wilayats of: Batna, Bouira, Mughayer and Ain Saleh, according to the spokesman, with an estimated support of more than 25,000 And 350 illumination points at the level of these areas.
