The People’s National Assembly in Algeria announced on Sunday the resignation of parliamentarian Mondher Boudin from the presidency of the Advisory Group for Combating Terrorism in the Inter-Parliamentary Union in support of the Palestinian cause.
In a statement, the Assembly indicated that during the work of the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and its accompanying meetings, held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, from 11 to 15 March, the membership of the Israeli occupation was approved.
In line with Algeria’s firm positions on just causes in the world, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, the National People’s Assembly, represented by Vice-President Munther Boudin, decided to withdraw from the presidency of the Advisory Group for Combating Terrorism and to be content with membership in it.
The Algerian Foreign Ministry had proposed the resignation of Algerian parliamentarian Munther Boden as chair of the Advisory Group on Combating Terrorism in the Inter-Parliamentary Union over “Israel’s” membership.
Boden was recently elected as the head of the group in the Bahraini capital.
The office of the Algerian Parliament Speaker asked to consult the Algerian Foreign Ministry, which called for avoiding dealing with the representative of the Israeli occupation.
