14 countries, including China as the guest of honor, will participate in this year’s International Cultural Festival of Symphony Music (FCIMS), scheduled from October 19th to 26th at the Algerian Opera, Boualem-Bessaih.
The Festival Commissioner, Abdelkader Bouazzara, explained that in addition to Algeria, represented by the Symphony Orchestra of the Algerian Opera, orchestras from, among others, Germany, Japan, France, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Russia, Venezuela, South Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, and Syria will take part in this 13th edition.
The opening evening will be animated by a fusion of the Symphony Orchestras of the Algerian Opera and Suzho (China), alternately conducted by Maestros Lotfi Saidi and Chen Xieyan.
They will accompany, among other programs, the performance of the Malouf music interpreter, Abbes Righi, a novelty in the Festival that will now host an Algerian song voice at the opening of each edition.
Orchestras will also perform in Oran, Tizi-Ouzou, and Bejaia.
In addition to the concerts presented at the Algerian Opera, musical ensembles will perform on the stages of theaters in Oran, Bejaia, and Tizi Ouzou, as well as the Algerian National Theater Mahieddine-Bachtarzi, which will host the Simon Bolivar Chamber Orchestra.
The Regional Theater of Oran Abdelkader-Alloula will host the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Tizi Ouzou Regional Theater Kateb-Yacine the German ensemble Klenke-Quartet, and the Italian World Youth Orchestra is scheduled at the Bejaia Regional Theater Abdelmalek-Bouguermouh.
In addition to the concerts, masterclasses dedicated to musical instruments and lyrical singing will be led by Algerian and foreign professionals participating in this edition.
Organized since 2009, the International Cultural Festival of Symphony Music is held in collaboration with the Algerian Opera Boualem-Bessaih and the National Office of Copyright and Related Rights (Onda).
