Alstom, the world leader in sustainable and smart mobility, is contributing to the commercial launch of two tram lines in Mostaganem. The Minister of Transport, Mr. Kamel Beldjoud, was present at the opening ceremony, accompanied by Mr. Aissa Boulahia, the Governor of Mostaganem and other high-level representatives from the local authorities in the Mostaganem region.

Métro d’Alger (EMA) company awarded the Mostaganem tram project to Alstom and Cosider. Alstom’s business scope includes the provision of the entire system, telecommunications and signaling systems, substations and ticketing, as well as warehouse equipment. Citadis train sets were supplied by Joint Venture CITAL. Cosider’s scope (Public Works/Engineering Works) has done civil engineering on its behalf, including railway lines, catenary and traffic light signs.

Tramway de Mostaganem — WikipédiaThe 14 km-long Mostaganem tram line will allow 24 passengers to travel every day on the line with 10.000 stations. The two lines will connect different parts of the city, making it easier for students to reach various university campuses and providing quick access to the city center and different stations.

“Alstom and its Algerian teams are proud to supply the Citadis trams and contribute to the construction of the entire Mostaganem tram system and infrastructure in partnership with Cosider. Alstom Algeria General Manager Amar Chouaki said, “We have come to the end of a project that is highly anticipated by the residents.” We are happy to enable millions of passengers to get around more easily thanks to our sustainable mobility solutions. It is also Alstom’s seventh city in Algeria to have a Citadis tram. This is a testament to our commitment to support Algeria’s vision of modern mobility.”

Currently, more than 50 Citadis trams have been sold in more than 3000 cities around the world, representing more than 20 years of experience and more than one billion kilometers covered.

Alstom, which has been in Algeria for more than 51 years and employs approximately 49 people through its Alstom Algeria subsidiary and JV Cital (30% Algerian partners/670% Alstom), has developed many transportation infrastructures in the country, such as the Algerian, Constantine, Oran trams. , Ouargla and Sétif. Alstom also supplied the SNTF rail 17 Coradia regional train, electrified the Algerian commuter line, and carried out various signaling projects. The development of industrial and engineering activities in Algeria has always been a priority for Alstom, particularly including technology transfer and local skills development. Alstom will continue to meet the increasing mobility needs in the country and will provide its full support to the development of Algerian cities.

Our publications, as you will notice, will always highlight positive performances and achievements in different fields, and also reflect our critics whenever we see problems affecting the lives of our fellow citizens, providing adequate solutions or calling for our elites to help solve them.

Our Mission

Our unique goal is to make this platform the first in Algeria to be devoted exclusively to positive information that sows hope among our youth and entice them to participate in the development of our country. The building of this new Algeria of which we dream and to which we aspire will be a collective work of all citizens jealous of the greatness of their nation and its influence. It will be the guarantor of the preservation of its independence and sovereignty and will honor the legacy and sacrifice of our valiant Chouhadas.
