With audacity, the US House of Representatives passed a law allowing sanctions on the International Criminal Court if it investigates or prosecutes individuals protected by the United States or its allies.
The message is clear: “We are the masters of the world…” We judge who we want, protect whom we want, and green-light their wrongdoings against whoever we choose.
The West agreed to issue an international arrest warrant against Putin, but his fury ignited when the ICC’s prosecutor, Karim Khan, demanded a similar warrant against Netanyahu and his defence minister. The US lawmakers’ law is merely an attempt to pressure the ICC to reject Khan’s request.
The discussion has long revolved around the necessity of establishing a new international system. The battle of Al-Aqsa and the subsequent unmasking have emphasised the urgent need for new international mechanisms.
Western, particularly American, audacity no longer cares about appearances and operates overtly. After Khan’s historic request, a Western official told him that the court was created for Africa and scoundrels like Putin, to put it bluntly. The new US law of shame is just a public translation of this sentiment.
Humanity will remain indebted to Palestinian resistance, which exposed this Western world. Returning to the death toll of four million people worldwide in its wars over just the past two decades alone, starting from the discovery of the Americas and the genocide of the Native Americans, will reveal a figure unimaginable by calculators.
It is certain that China and Russia are watching with satisfaction at the collapse of the Western image worldwide, paving their way to impose a new vision and lead the retaliating rest of the world to what humanity has come to.
