Algerian hurdler Amine Bouanani was crowned African champion in the 110m/hurdles on Thursday in Saint-Pierre (Mauritius), achieving a new national record which allows him to qualify for the Eugene Worlds in the United States (15- July 24).
Thanks to this performance, Bouanani improved his Algerian record for the specialty (13.45), established at the meeting in Forbach (France) on May 29 and won his qualification for the 2022 Worlds.
In the men’s discus final, Algerian athletes Abdelmoumen Bourekba (50.48m) and Oussama Khennoussi (47.58m) finished sixth and seventh in the competition, respectively, as the gold went to the South -African Werner Visser (61.80m).
