Partnership areas between Algeria and Russia were examined today, Wednesday, at the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals, especially those related to biotechnology, in light of Algeria’s desire to benefit from the Russian experience in the field of pharmaceutical production.
In this regard, the Director-General of the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals, Ali Aoun, received a Russian delegation made up of the Russian commercial representative in Algeria and the general manager of the “Algin Pharm” company, in the presence of executives from the pharmacy, where the two parties touched on a number of points, foremost among which, “the preparation for the launch of drug production as part of the Algerian-Russian partnership, especially those related to biotechnology and some rare diseases such as hemophilia, cancer and blood diseases, in addition to benefiting from the Russian experience in the field of pharmaceutical production,” according to a statement by the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals.
The same source indicated that this operation, which falls within the framework of the duties of the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals, “will contribute to reducing the bill for importing medicines and enhancing local production.”
The Russian delegation expressed – the statement adds – its “full readiness to cooperate with the Algerian partner in order to develop partnership between the two countries in this field.”
For his part, Mr. Aoun stressed “the need to prepare to launch this process as soon as possible, in light of the strong political will of both countries.”
