During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all around the world fast from sunrise to sunset. This month-long period of spiritual reflection is also a time of culinary exploration, where traditional dishes and flavors are enjoyed during the nightly iftar meal.

Algerian cuisine is rich in flavors and history, with influences from Berber, Arabic, French, and Ottoman cultures. From hearty soups to fragrant stews and sweet pastries, the cuisine of Algeria is diverse and delicious.

One of the most iconic dishes of Algeria is harira soup. This hearty soup is made with chickpeas, lentils, tomatoes, and onions, and is spiced with cumin, paprika, and cinnamon. Served hot with a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top, harira soup is the perfect first course to break the fast and warm the belly.

For the main course, tagine is a popular dish that is served during Ramadan. This slow-cooked stew is made with tender beef or lamb, prunes, and a variety of spices such as cumin, coriander, and turmeric. The stew is cooked in a traditional clay tagine dish, which helps to seal in the flavors and juices of the meat. It is served with fluffy couscous on the side, providing a filling and satisfying meal for the iftar.

To end the meal on a sweet note, kalb el louz is a traditional Algerian dessert that is a favorite during Ramadan. Made with semolina, almond paste, and a sweet syrup, this cake is flavored with orange blossom water and garnished with powdered sugar and sliced almonds. The cake is cut into diamond shapes and served on a decorative plate, providing a beautiful and delicious end to the meal.

Beyond these iconic dishes, Algerian cuisine also features a variety of other delicious dishes and ingredients such as brik, marga, and chorba. Brik is a popular appetizer that features a crispy phyllo dough pastry filled with tuna, egg, and potatoes. Marga is a savory crepe-like pancake that is stuffed with a variety of ingredients such as meat, vegetables, and cheese. Chorba is a spicy soup made with lamb or chicken, tomatoes, and chickpeas, and is flavored with coriander, mint, and lemon juice.

Algerian cuisine is a true reflection of the country’s rich history and cultural influences. With a diverse array of flavors, ingredients, and dishes, Algerian cuisine provides a delicious and exciting culinary journey for Ramadan and beyond.

Our publications, as you will notice, will always highlight positive performances and achievements in different fields, and also reflect our critics whenever we see problems affecting the lives of our fellow citizens, providing adequate solutions or calling for our elites to help solve them.

Our Mission

Our unique goal is to make this platform the first in Algeria to be devoted exclusively to positive information that sows hope among our youth and entice them to participate in the development of our country. The building of this new Algeria of which we dream and to which we aspire will be a collective work of all citizens jealous of the greatness of their nation and its influence. It will be the guarantor of the preservation of its independence and sovereignty and will honor the legacy and sacrifice of our valiant Chouhadas.
