The governor of the province of Algiers, Youcef Cherfa, paid today Monday, an inspection visit to the projects of the realization of the seawater desalination plants in El-Marsa and Bordj El-Kifan, during which it was confirmed that the two plants would be completed by the end 2021.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the province of Algiers, the plant of El-Marsa, which has a production capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day, “will be delivered in phases starting from the end of the current year.”
As for the plant of Bordj El-Kifan, which is currently being realized in the area “bateau cassé”, it has a production capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day, according to the same source, who confirmed that it will enter into operation at the end of December 2021.
The services of the province of Algiers indicated that the two plants are being realized by “Cosidar” company and with national public means.
Meanwhile, Cherfa gave instructions to “accelerate the pace of completion and the need to comply with delivery deadlines,” noting that the two plants will contribute to raising and strengthening the distribution capabilities of drinking water for the benefit of the residents of the capital.
It is worth noting that Cherfa was accompanied during this visit by the governor delegate of the administrative district of Dar El Beida and the director of the capital’s water resources.
