City Tour: a deep dive into the revolutionary mobility service that is transforming Algiers.
In a bold effort to meet the growing demand for transportation in the metropolitan area of Algiers, the Urban and Suburban Transport Company of Algiers (ETUSA) announces the launch of an innovative service called “City Tour.” This initiative, unveiled today at a press conference, aims to radically improve mobility in the capital.
The main goal of the City Tour is to optimize mobility in the heart of Algiers, providing a practical and affordable solution for residents and visitors. Starting from Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 53 new transport lines will be put into service, covering various municipalities in the capital as well as the new urban areas. This expansion of the transport network follows the reassignment of school buses, which are now integrated into the urban transport network in preparation for the new school year.
The schedules for the “City Tour” service have been carefully designed to meet the diverse needs of Algiers’ residents. The first departures are scheduled for 5:30 AM, ensuring essential service for many early morning workers, while the last departure will be at 7:30 PM. For those in need of late-night service, ETUSA will provide 19 buses covering 19 lines, operating from 6:50 PM to 12:50 AM. With this massive expansion of its bus fleet, ETUSA will increase the total number of urban transport buses to 535, serving 182 different lines in the city.
