Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and the City announced, today, Sunday, in a statement, that the contracts for the acquisition of chairs and elevators for the Douira stadium (Algiers) have been finalized, noting that the painting of the stands will start “in the coming days.”
The ministry stated that the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, paid a working visit to the Douira stadium, where he inspected the three tunnels that have been completed since the minister’s last visit, “after an interruption that lasted nearly 03 years.”
In this regard, the statement confirmed that the excavation work has been completed in the western tunnel, which is 120 m long, and the southern tunnel is 146 m long, adding that the excavation work in the third tunnel will be completed within the next few days.
After that, Belaribi was transferred to the lower floors of the stadium (ground floor No. 01 and No. 02), which, according to the statement, will be “a site for close follow-up by the realization company with an increase in the number of workers and a doubling of the pace of work to complete the covering and construction works.”
With regard to the external ceiling of the stadium, the minister requested that “a timetable be set for covering the external metal structure and increasing the pace of completion with adequate lighting for the stadium that would ensure the protection and safety of workers.”
Meanwhile, the minister mentioned the ban on the import of all locally produced materials, with the preparation of a specific list of materials necessary to complete the stadium noting that “the conclusion of the contract for the acquisition of chairs and elevators will be launched in the coming days.” .
Finally, the ministry confirmed that the external preparation works are witnessing “remarkable progress” in their pace.
