ALGIERS-The Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to Algeria, Alhassane Barry said, on Monday, that he solicited the support of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for a “successful and peaceful” transition in this country.
“I requested from the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to support a successful and peaceful transition in the Republic of Guinea”, the ambassador told the press after his meeting with the President of the Republic.
Calling Algerian diplomacy “effective and very influential”, the Guinean official explained that he requested the support of President Tebboune as the architect of this diplomacy.
The Guinean ambassador, who paid President Tebboune a farewell visit at the end of his mission in Algeria, said that his meeting with President Tebboune was an opportunity to “discuss bilateral and cooperation ties” uniting the two countries, stressing that particular emphasis was placed on “the promotion of economic diplomacy.”
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss “the partnerships between Guinea’s oil company and the Algerian company Sonatrach, and between the private sector of the two countries”, he said.
“President Tebboune gave guidelines so that efforts to revitalize this relationship of friendship and cooperation be further strengthened,” he continued.
“We also focused on cooperation in the education sector, in particular, “the scholarships offered by the Algerian State to Guinean students”, said the diplomat.
