Two Algerian teams won the global championship of the “Huawei ICT competition”, which was held on June 18 in China.
Today, Monday, a statement by Huawei said, “This international competition, which brought together 120,000 students from 85 countries from different continents Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and South America, was won by the Algerian (cloud) team, which is the world championship, which is the (grand prize), and the Algerian team (Al-Sahaba) won the (Grand Prize). (Al-Shabaka) won (first prize) in this edition, while an Algerian student won for the first time the “Women in Technology” award.
The statement pointed out that he won the grand prize in the “cloud” specialization, Qarabaji Lina “Higher School of Automation”, Qara Sufyan “University of Batna 2” and Masoudi Anis “Bejaia University”, while the first prize for the network specialization was won by Masoudi Muslim “High School of Automation”. Bouslama Hicham, “High School of Computer Information” and Taiba Mohamed Ali “University of Sidi Bel Abbes”, while Qarabji Lina “High School of Computer Information” won the Women in Technology award.
This victory was achieved – according to the same statement – “thanks to their skills in innovation and information and communication technology (artificial intelligence – computing – big data – cloud…)”.
For reference, Algeria represented during this edition, “six brilliant students, accompanied by two components and experts from Huawei, with access to the latest technologies and facilities provided by Huawei.” Algeria participated in the global competition “Huawei for Information and Communication Technology” for the 2021-2022 season with more than 1,200 students from more than 30 universities, colleges and institutes under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
It is worth noting that this competition was launched in September, when teams from Huawei visited various regions of the country to introduce them. This competition is fully consistent with Huawei’s vision and vision of transferring
knowledge and skills in the field of ICT for the benefit of young Algerian talents.
