Algerian judoka Fethi Nourine (-73 kg) has qualified for the next Summer Olympic Games, scheduled for July 23 to August 8 in Tokyo (Japan), announced the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA).
The final list of judokas qualified for the Japanese Olympics will be unveiled Wednesday (around 18:00 GMT), on the official website of the International Federation (IJF), but the COA anticipated the qualification of the Oran, by publishing this information on Saturday evening on social networks. Six other Algerian judokas were candidates for qualification for the Japanese Olympics, namely Belkadi Amina (-63 kg), Kaouthar Ouallal (-78 kg), Sonia Asselah (+78 kg), Waïl Ezzine (-66 kg), Abderrahmane Benamadi (-90 kg) and Mustapha Yasser Bouamar (-100 kg), but neither of them finally made it.
