The volume of exports through the port of Mostaganem exceeded the volume of imports during the past seven months, as reported on Monday by the Directorate General of the port.
The exports from Mostaganem seaport jumped by 760 % during the first 7 month of 2021, reaching 393000 tons versus 45000 tons during the same period of 2020, while imports reached 336000 tons in the first seven months of 2021 pushing up the trade balance of the port by 50 %.
Most exports are of raw material (iron, clinker, helium …) and most interesting, 317 tons of fruits and vegetables. While building materials exports grow by 362 %, meats imports decreased by 94 %.
It’s worth noting that Mostaganem seaport didn’t record more exports than imports since 30 years.
