Algeria can be seen as a model or an example to follow in terms of North-South or South-South cooperation, in view of its determination and willingness to forge pragmatic and mutually supportive cooperation links, and to conceive this cooperation as a link between peoples. This is not an abstract ideal, but a loyalty inherited from its Liberation struggle and the founding principles of the Republic.
Moreover, the country, immense by its surface, is the gateway to Africa. A continent in the process of launching the ambitious African Free Trade Area to which Algeria actively contributes to its growth and influence.
The country is considered, unanimously, as a strategic and reliable partner, fully aware of its natural capabilities, its human potential trained or graduated, concerned about the scrupulous respect of its commitments and agreements. This is evidenced, in particular, by the regular and uninterrupted supply of natural gas to the European Union. This is a capital of trust that earns it international consideration, because its model of cooperation, based essentially on the defense of mutual interests, is never subject to mercantile bargaining or compromise of any kind.
This posture has made Algeria a highly credible interlocutor with foreign governments or economic operators.
Important efforts are being made by Algeria to meet the growing demand for gas in European markets, particularly in Spain, thanks to the flexibility in terms of liquefaction capacity available to the country.
“Algeria is a reliable economic partner of the first order, which has always honored its commitments to Spain,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares Bueno, on a working visit to our country. A statement that has nothing ceremonial and which truly reflects the excellence of relations between Algeria and Spain, called to strengthen further given the interest of the Spanish government to our country. This confidence and reliability, which are recognized by its various partners in all areas of cooperation, are not the result of chance.
Algeria, by its history, its weight and its geographical position is constantly engaged in the promotion of initiatives and dynamics in order to consolidate the bonds of brotherhood and friendship with the countries it deals with.
Algeria leads a proactive and multifaceted action in order to consolidate its position as a leading actor. It endeavors to redeploy its economic diplomacy in the spaces which it considers as vital for its development and its stability. These are, among others, priorities contained in the Action Plan of the government for the implementation of the program of the President of the Republic.
