The National Corporation for Electronic Industries, located in Sidi Bel Abbes, will “soon” start manufacturing the basic components of solar power plants in partnership with the Italian Corporation “Weimer”, the President and Director-General of the same public corporation, Abbas Micamene, learned Tuesday.
The same official explained that the project falls within the framework of a bilateral agreement concluded on December 14 between the National Corporation for Electronic Industries and the Italian company for the manufacture of solar energy components “Weimar” in order to create a manufacturing unit “Weimar Algeria” specialized in the manufacture of components and communication units for solar power stations and monitoring equipment for the industrial industry. solar energy.
He highlighted that the two partners set other goals within the framework of this bilateral agreement, including the training of workers, the exchange of experiences and the development of competencies regarding the management of an international institution in the first place, local production in accordance with international standards, and the creation of more than 300 direct and 1,400 indirect jobs.
The Director General of the National Corporation for Electronic Industries indicated that this project falls within the framework of diversifying investment in the Corporation and aims to create a new industry at the level of the national market, which will undertake the manufacture of the basic components of solar power plants, within the framework of the national strategy for the energy transition to renewable energies, which aspires to send 1000 megawatts In the year with the horizons of 2035.
It is expected to manufacture a variety of parts and components of communication and switching units for solar power plants using the latest technologies and their accessories, with an integration rate of up to 50 percent during the first five years of activity, according to the same official.
As a reminder, the National Corporation for Electronic Industries of Sidi Bel Abbes, which specializes in the manufacture of electronic products for the general and professional audience through its various production sites at the national level, employs 6,400 workers, including engineers and specialized users, who were trained in Germany, Britain, the United States of America and Russia.
