ALGIERS – The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari announced, Thursday in Algiers, the launch of the “Study in Algeria” label in order to consolidate the attractiveness of university establishments, make them more visible and encourage teaching in foreign languages.
The Minister who presided over the launch of this operation aimed at higher education and scientific research establishments, indicated that the “Study in Algeria” label aimed “to consolidate the attractiveness of university establishments and their visibility, but also the encouragement of teaching in foreign languages, especially in English, able to reflect the true positive image of the higher education system in Algeria”.
The granting of this label to university establishments obeys a number of criteria and indicators, based essentially on “the evaluation by foreign students of the level of their support by university establishments and their reception conditions, in addition to respect for the content of ‘a guide drawn up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad’.
On this occasion, Mr. Baddari underlined that the granting of the “Study in Algeria” label makes it possible to establish a climate of competitiveness between Algerian university establishments for a better reception of students, guests of Algeria, able to contribute to raise the level of quality of higher education and scientific research in Algeria, a “challenge” that calls for collective and intensified action.
