Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Ayman Ben Abderrahmane said that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is keen to give women great importance within his program that the government is working to implement.
In a speech on the sidelines of his supervision of the launch of the international conference, the Prime Minister affirmed: “Women are a struggle, excellence and creativity, that the President of the Republic’s program is keen on economic empowerment of women’s status, strengthening their rights and protecting them from violence, and benefiting from several programs such as entrepreneurship. Especially in rural areas, in a way that responds to their aspirations and lives up to the sacrifices they made for the sake of the country.
Bin Abd al-Rahman added that the female workforce in some sectors exceeded 50 percent, especially in the health, education and teaching sectors, and the number of female students at the university far exceeded the number of male students, even those professions that were, until recently, the preserve of men, such as wires Security, customs, and civil protection have recorded an upward trend in the employment of the female component, and opened the door for them to assume leadership and responsibility positions, and the same is true in the ranks of the People’s National Army, and the judiciary, in which the female component has known a remarkable presence in recent years.
Ayman bin Abd al-Rahman referred to the struggles of Algerian women during colonialism, saying: “The Algerian woman of resistance and rebellion has proven her place in the arena of struggle, so she presented an honorable and wonderful image of her standing in front of her male brother, inspired by many liberation movements in the world.”
He stressed that the Algerian woman, in the difficult times that Algeria went through throughout history, was a solid shield and an impenetrable fortress to defend the fever of the homeland, where history preserves bright pictures and scenes drawn by the mujahid Lalla Fatima Nsumer and her companions who followed their path of the rebellious mujahideen against injustice and humiliation for society, Hassiba Ben Bouali, Fadela Saadane, Malika Kaid, and the beautiful women of Algeria: Jamila Bouhired, Jamila Bouazza, Jamila Boubasha and the list is long from Algeria’s silks.
The Prime Minister cited the contributions of women during the liberation revolution, in cities, villages and rural areas, in addition to the qualitative guerrilla operations they carried out, which even men were not able to carry out, “as the guerrilla, writer and distributor of the revolution’s publications, as well as the nurse and healer of the wounded of the Liberation Army, stressing that, “Were it not for We would not be here as a stand of reverence, but pride and pride in your presence with us.”
The Prime Minister stressed that the government is determined to move forward towards consolidating the gains made for women, and to work to coordinate efforts at all levels, according to a participatory approach to enhance their capabilities and creativity in engaging in the country’s economic development path.
