South. “The Pan-African Parliament condemns and rejects any interference in the internal affairs of Algeria and all African countries and recalls that the two continental Parliaments had agreed in December 2022 in Brussels that they should consult each other on issues relating to the two continents before taking any resolution or decision”, specifies the text. Noting that it had “learned with regret” of the resolution taken by the European Parliament on freedom of the press in Algeria, “the Pan-African Parliament recalls that the media in Algeria have enjoyed total freedom since this country embarked on a process democracy launched more than three decades ago”. The Pan-African Parliament recalled in its press release that “the number of daily newspapers and public and private television channels testify to the existence of freedom of the press in Algeria”
