In the video, an amazing goal for the Western Sahara team against the Mouloudia of Algeria
The Sahrawi national football team played its first match in its history on Saturday at the “Nelson Mandela” stadium in Baraki (Algiers), ahead of the dean of Algerian clubs, Mouloudia of Algiers, resident of the First League professional “Mobilis”, in a beautiful atmosphere celebrating the fiftieth (50) anniversary of the creation of the Polisario Front and the outbreak of the armed struggle.
The stadium, named after the late South African leader, Nelson Mandela, has had historic moments, as it is the first game played by the Western Sahara team, attended by members of the government, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Abderahmane Hammad, as well as the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar.
The stands experienced a festive atmosphere in the presence of Saharawi families residing in Algeria, in addition to Algerian families, who seized this opportunity to affirm the solidarity of the Algerian people with their Saharawi brother in their struggle for independence.
The choice to play against Mouloudia of Algiers comes in view of the symbolism it carries being the first Algerian club founded in 1921, which fought in its own way to express the voice of the Algerian people, while it aspired to freedom. and emancipation from French colonialism.
