There is something rotten in the European Parliament

Can’t you smell these pestilential odors exhaling from the European Parliament? Those fetid odors that characterize the rotten money of corruption, the miasma of bad faith and the stench of dishonesty?

Otherwise, how to explain this pathological relentlessness against Algeria and this complicit silence towards other countries such as, among others, Morocco or Israel?

Why has this parliament passed over in silence the condemnation of the Riffian militant Nasser Zefzafi to 20 years in prison, his torture and his sodomization?

How to interpret the silence of this same parliament when the Palestinian journalist Shirine Abu Aqleh was coldly murdered by an Israeli soldier and her remains were publicly desecrated? And what about the fifty or so Palestinian journalists killed by the Israeli army since the beginning of this century?

This parliament, plagued by corruption, as revealed by the Marocgate investigation, ridiculously sets itself up as a lesson giver and guardian of universal values. And don’t tell me that the few MEPs accused in connection with this scandal are the only beneficiaries of Moroccan bribes. For having benefited from the “voluntary blindness” of the European Parliament and its active protection for no less than a quarter of a century (!), Morocco had to bribe a very large number of deputies.

And what about Israel? This country whose countless atrocities, murders and human rights violations against Palestinians have been invisible and inaudible to European parliamentarians for decades!

Within the European Union (EU) itself, the Spanish journalist Pablo Gonzalez has been imprisoned for more than a year in Poland with a file considered empty. Why not vote for a resolution against Poland for arbitrary detention of a journalist in very harsh conditions?

And in Great Britain, these deputies so inclined to look down on Algeria, don’t they see Julian Assange slowly dying in a sinister jail when he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize? Can they even lift a finger to help him and show a touch of compassion for the one who is the symbol of freedom of expression? Please, a resolution, a very small resolution!

In addition to these nauseating smells, another revolting odor is added: that of the lobbies which deprave the European institutions from within. Thus one could recently read on the cover of a French magazine: “The Soros mafia – Cronyism, corruption and propaganda: how the progressive NGOs of the Open Society have infiltrated the European Court of Human Rights”.

And the Open Society is not alone in infiltrating the EU. Other human right organizations are working hard to shift their agendas of destabilizing countries targeted for their courageous political positions away from the dictates of rogue and aging powers.

It must however be recognized that in the specific case of the case concerning Radio M and its boss, the EU is directly involved.

Indeed, I showed in a previous article that this radio was subsidized by Canal France International (CFI), a French organization funded by the Quai d’Orsay as part of the Ebticar-Media project. But the most interesting thing is that the EU was involved in this project.

In January 2014, Canal France International (CFI) signed two major contracts with the European Union (EU), for a total amount of 2.7 million euros. An envelope of 1.5 million euros (1.2 million euros from the EU) has been allocated to the first, which is dedicated to supporting and developing “independent” Syrian media. By “independent”, we insinuate, of course, “opposed to the Syrian government”. As part of this project, the CFI has set up a media centre, the Syrian Media Incubator, in the Turkish town of Gaziantep, 60 km from the Syrian border, to help destabilize this country.

The second contract, for a period of three years (2014-2016) was intended to finance projects “aimed at developing online information” in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). With a budget of 1.5 million euros, the program targeted nine Arab countries including, of course, Algeria and Syria. It is in this context that Radio M was funded, together with New Syrian Voices, a Syrian project aimed at “capturing the Syrian reality through quality reporting – currently missing in the information and ideological chaos generated by the regime of Bassar Al Assad – combining precision and innovation in order to also attract the attention of the international media. (Sic!)

We know into what chaos Syria sank thanks to these “quality reports” and, by extrapolation, what the EU was preparing for Algeria if it were not for the extreme vigilance and political maturity of its citizens.

So, can we conclude that the resolution of the European Parliament is in fact only a kind of “after-sales service” concerning an “investment” important for the EU and very doubtful for Algeria?

And what about the Macronist deputies of the “Renew” group who almost all voted for the resolution against Algeria? Do they not find that they are inconsistent with the desire for rapprochement displayed by their president or is it just window dressing?

The EU and its parliament, just like the rest of the Western countries have not yet understood that a major geopolitical change is currently underway and that the time for arrogance is over.

The communiqués of the Pan-African and Arab Parliaments which reject and condemn the declaration of the European Parliament on Algeria and which demand that it completely stop interfering in the internal affairs of African and Arab countries are indicators which cannot be mistaken.

They also indicate that there really is something rotten in the European Parliament. Don’t you smell those pestilential stench and fetid odors?
