{"id":101306,"date":"2024-03-28T10:16:30","date_gmt":"2024-03-28T09:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jazairhope.org\/?p=101306"},"modified":"2024-03-28T05:17:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-28T04:17:43","slug":"the-anatomy-of-a-genocide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jazairhope.org\/en\/the-anatomy-of-a-genocide\/","title":{"rendered":"The anatomy of a Genocide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"yt-simple-endpoint style-scope yt-formatted-string bold\" dir=\"auto\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/results?search_query=United+Nations+Office+at+Geneva&amp;sp=EiG4AQHCARtDaElKUHk3THF2eGtqRWNSdDNpSkQwZDg5SVk%253D\">UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On 26 March 2024 during the 55th session of the Geneva-based Human Rights Council, Francesca Albanese, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, presented a report entitled <strong>&#8220;Anatomy of a Genocide&#8221;. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By analyzing the patterns of violence and Israel\u2019s policies in its onslaught on Gaza, Ms. Albanese concludes that &#8220;there are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating Israel\u2019s commission of genocide is met.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Special Rapporteurs are appointed by the Human Rights Council and serve in their individual capacity, independent of the UN system and national governments.
