ALGIERS- The head of the American diplomacy, Antony Blinken, underlined, Thursday in Washington, the role of Algeria in the promotion of stability in the Sahel and in Libya, welcoming, moreover, its efforts exerted in the economic and energy diversification, indicated the State Department spokesman Ned Price.<\/p>\n

In a telephone talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, \u201cthe Secretary of State expressed his appreciation for Algeria\u2019s role in promoting stability in the Sahel and Libya and praised its efforts exerted in the economic and energy diversification, as well as its willingness to attract more American companies to Algeria, \u201cNed Price added in a statement issued by the State Department.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe noted that the United States looked forward to being the guest of honor at the 2022 Algeria International Trade Fair,\u201d adding that \u201cthe two officials reaffirmed the strength of the American-Algerian partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n

To this end, Blinken and Boukadoum discussed \u201cthe strengthening of bilateral relations based on shared values \u200b\u200band common interests,\u201d pointed out Ned Price.<\/p>\n

They also discussed \u201cthe possibilities of increasing cooperation in Africa to promote economic prosperity and regional stability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a tweet, Blinken welcomed his exchange with Boukadoum, while reaffirming the importance of relations between the two countries (Algeria \/ United States).<\/p>\n

For the US official, this \u201cwill help advance common interests.\u201d \u201cWe discussed our desire to see stability and prosperity in Libya and the Sahel,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
