ALGIERS- An operation to export 81,000 liters of liquid medical oxygen to Tunisia has been launched by the private Algerian company specializing in the production of industrial gases (Calgaz-Algeria), officials of Ouargla de Calgaz-Algeria unit said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Three tankers, with a capacity of 27,000 liters each, were exported, Thursday at midnight from Ouargla towards Tunisia via the Algerian-Tunisian border post of Bouchebka, in the province of T\u00e9bessa, the director of the unit told APS.<\/p>\n

This shipment is the second of its kind after the one carried out last November. This operation comes under a partnership contract for the supply of industrial gases, notably liquefied oxygen and nitrogen, said Mr. Nadjib Khedim.<\/p>\n

With a daily production capacity of 334 tons and having a large distribution fleet to ensure the delivery of its products to its customers, Calgaz-Algeria has two units located near strategic oil and gas zones, in the provinces of Ouargla and Laghouat, the same official recalled.<\/p>\n

Supplying hospital structures with liquid oxygen is part of the activities of the company which supplied, last year, more than 250 hospital structures across the country with liquid medical oxygen, free of charge, as part of an action of solidarity in the face of the health crisis induced by the Coronavirus pandemic, the unit\u2019s director concluded.<\/p>\n
