ALGIERS-President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed that Algeria is considered by the countries of the world as a \u201cregional power\u201d that has all the respect, warning against the attempts to \u201cminimize\u201d its pioneering role through \u201cdictates behind the scenes\u201d in order to destabilize the country by exploiting its children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

President Tebboune stressed in a periodic interview Sunday with the representatives of the national media, the necessity for the Algerians to be \u201cconvinced that their country is a regional power,\u201d warning against the attempts to \u201cminimize\u201d Algeria\u2019s pioneering role, led by sides dictating behind the scenes through what is called the fourth generation wars that aim to destabilize the country by exploiting its children.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this respect, he warned against the rumors on the social networks about different sectors and which exploit the current sanitary situation to spread terror among citizens through fake news and rigged videos. \u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition to be an \u201carm used by those who want to destabilize Algeria through social networks,\u201d\u00a0the rumors infringe the national security, which led us to the creation of a penal center to combat cyber crimes,\u201d added President Tebboune.<\/p>\n

President Tebboune pointed out that the Algerian Constitution has \u201censhrined the individual and collective freedoms,\u201d\u00a0adding that \u201cthe use of social networks for slander and abuse is a violation of the law\u201d and the authors of these crimes are not prisoners of conscience.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

President of the Republic affirmed that the attempts to undermine the People\u2019s National Army aim to \u201cdeprive the Algerians of protection,\u201d because the Army is \u201cthe protector of the national cohesion\u201d and the backbone of the Algerian State in accordance with the declaration of First November.<\/p>\n

President Tebboune affirmed \u201cthe State is here to deal with the concerns of all citizens, notably those of young people.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this respect, he announced \u201cthe launch, within two months, of programmes for disadvantaged provinces, notably in the High Plateaus and South,\u201d adding \u201cwe have launched programmes for remote areas and we will implement other programmes to adapt the investment to the citizens\u2019 needs.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In his reply to a question on the composition of new Government, Tebboune said that \u201cabout half of the Government\u2019s composition is the result of proposals of the political parties,\u201d dubbing \u201cbalanced\u201d this composition.<\/p>\n

While broaching the health situation, he welcomed the sacrifices and efforts of the white army in the fight against Covid-19, announcing a revision of the particular statutes of the healthcare workers and the Civil Service Act.<\/p>\n

Concerning the issue of drinking water supply, the Head of State assured that it will be resolved next summer with the entry into service of several sea water desalination projects, calling on citizens \u201cto be patient\u201d until the completion of the construction of these stations.<\/p>\n

At the economic level, President Tebboune underlined a recovery of the national economy, recording a growth rate of 3.8% and exports that have reached levels not seen since 25 years, adding that foreign exchange reserves have reached now USD44 billion.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At the international level, President Tebboune stressed that the Algerian diplomacy has recently recovered \u201cits real position,\u201d underlining that the African officials \u201ccomplained about the absence of Algeria.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concerning the crisis of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), the Head of State said he is \u201coptimistic\u201d about the success of the Algerian initiative concerning this issue, underlining the need for a great deal of interaction with this initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n
