dir=\"rtl\">\u064a\u0648\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0644\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0628\u0648\u064a<\/span>\u200e; meaning the\u00a0<i>Birth of\u00a0<a title=\"Muhammad\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muhammad\">Muhammad<\/a><\/i>) has been traditionally a day of celebration and joy, because\u00a0<a title=\"Mawlid\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mawlid\">Mawlid<\/a>\u00a0is celebrated on the twelfth day of\u00a0<a title=\"Rabi\u02bd al-Awwal\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rabi%CA%BD_al-Awwal\">Rabi\u02bd al-Awwal<\/a>\u00a0across the\u00a0<a title=\"Muslim world\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muslim_world\">Muslim world<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-auto_1-0\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Algerian people\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Algerian_people\">Algerian people<\/a>, however, embrace this day with cheerful remembrance of those who have died, and it is a custom to pay visit to cemetery in order to pray for the departed ones.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mawlid_Day\">Mawlid Day<\/a><\/i>\u00a0in\u00a0<i>Algeria<\/i>\u00a0is part of the feasts and public holidays which are the set of religious and civil holidays which are legally defined by law.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the independent Algerian state has codified a count of twelve public holidays (religious and civil holidays) legally defined by the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Algerian constitution\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Algerian_constitution\">Algerian constitution<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>These public holidays, including\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>, were included in Law No. 63\/278 of 26 July 1963, amended and supplemented by Ordinances No. 66\/153 and No. 68\/1491.<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>The fact that in\u00a0<i>Algeria<\/i>\u00a0the day of\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>\u00a0is considered a public holiday shows the importance of this holiday for\u00a0<i>Algerians<\/i>, because not all\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Muslim countries\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muslim_countries\">Muslim countries<\/a>\u00a0grant a public holiday for this holiday.<sup id=\"cite_ref-6\" class=\"mw-ref festivals<\/a>, is celebrated according to the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Hijri calendar\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hijri_calendar\">Hijri calendar<\/a>\u00a0which differs from year to year, according to a sliding mode of eleven days, and therefore according to the local phenomena of the different\u00a0<a title=\"Lunar phase\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lunar_phase\">lunar phases<\/a>, hence dates which vary from year to year.<sup id=\"cite_ref-7\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-8\" the joy observed on the day of\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>, and even several days before and more than seven next days,\u00a0<a title=\"Mosque\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mosque\">mosques<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Zawiya (institution)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zawiya_(institution)\">zawiyas<\/a>\u00a0welcome many faithful and\u00a0<a title=\"Murid\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Murid\">murids<\/a>\u00a0who have come to fulfill the\u00a0<a title=\"Dhikr\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dhikr\">dhikr<\/a>\u00a0of God (Allah) Almighty.<sup id=\"cite_ref-9\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-10\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>This is how Algerian\u00a0<a title=\"Muslims\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muslims\">Muslims<\/a>\u00a0therefore consider\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>\u00a0to be a dedicated and memorable day of conviviality climate and therefore complete the joy and take the meal with the family.<sup id=\"cite_ref-11\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-12\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of each\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>\u00a0celebrated, religious conferences are organized and focus on the interior and spiritual dimension of Prophet Muhammad, may salvation be upon him.<sup id=\"cite_ref-13\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-14\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>This event is marked by\u00a0<a title=\"Dhikr\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dhikr\">dhikr<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Salah\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Salah\">salah<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Tilawa (Quran)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tilawa_(Quran)\">tilawa<\/a>\u00a0of the\u00a0<a title=\"Quran\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quran\">Quran<\/a>\u00a0in choir by the\u00a0<a title=\"Imam\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Imam\">Imams<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a title=\"Talibe\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Talibe\">Talibes<\/a>\u00a0in the presence of guests from several regions to attend in a mystical, pious and spiritual atmosphere, marked by a large number of faithful and\u00a0<a title=\"Murid\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Murid\">murids<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-15\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-16\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Imams intervene to recall the values of\u00a0<a title=\"Islam\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Islam\">Islam<\/a>\u00a0through the path of the Prophet Muhammad, in order to resuscitate the spirit and the millennial values defended over the ages by thinkers, sheikhs and scholars for the preservation of the identity of the personality of the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Algerian people\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Algerian_people\">Algerian people<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-17\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup on the twelfth day of the month of\u00a0<a title=\"Rabi\u02bd al-Awwal\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rabi%CA%BD_al-Awwal\">Rabi\u02bd al-Awwal<\/a>, which is the third month of the\u00a0<a title=\"Hijri year\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hijri_year\">Hijri year<\/a>, Algerians experience this joy according to the tradition of\u00a0<a title=\"Sunni Islam\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sunni_Islam\">Sunni Islam<\/a>\u00a0which has marked for centuries the\u00a0<a title=\"History of Algeria\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_Algeria\">history of Algeria<\/a>\u00a0and that of the\u00a0<a title=\"Maghreb\" the\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>\u00a0festivity, Algerian evenings are brightened up in homes by\u00a0<span class=\"new\">halqas<\/span><span class=\"noprint\">\u00a0[<a class=\"extiw\" title=\"ar:\u062d\u0644\u0642\u0627\u062a \u0627\u0644\u062a\u062d\u0641\u064a\u0638\" prepare favorite traditional dishes, such as\u00a0<a title=\"Couscous\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Couscous\">couscous<\/a>,\u00a0<span class=\"new\">reshta<\/span><span class=\"noprint\">\u00a0[<a class=\"extiw\" title=\"fr:Rechta\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rechta\">fr<\/a>]<\/span>,\u00a0<a title=\"Chakhchoukha\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chakhchoukha\">chakhchoukha<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Dolma\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dolma\">dolma<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Ghoriba\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ghoriba\">ghoriba<\/a>, refiss, bagherirs and other succulent and tantalizing dishes, and to concoct delicious traditional dishes to present href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Couscous\">couscous<\/a>\u00a0dish, classified as\u00a0<a title=\"Maghreb\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maghreb\">Maghreb<\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"Intangible cultural heritage\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intangible_cultural_heritage\">intangible cultural heritage<\/a>, is presented on the occasion of the\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-28\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-29\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>To ensure the success of the gastronomic services of the housewives, a system of permanence is ensured by the traders of fruit and vegetables as well as other basic products and essential to satisfy the demand of households.<sup id=\"cite_ref-30\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-31\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>But a fraudulent practice is noted in this circumstance by the soaring prices of the products necessary for the preparation of the dishes for this festivity, and more particularly the prices of\u00a0<a title=\"Chicken\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chicken\">chicken<\/a>\u00a0on the eve of\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-32\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-33\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>This situation is denounced to each\u00a0<i>Mawlid<\/i>\u00a0as a serious commercial overrun having no logical explanations for this phenomenon which precedes each national or religious holiday, and caused by speculators.<sup id=\"cite_ref-34\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-35\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>This dizzying and recurring increase greatly influences consumer behavior on this religious holiday, despite the availability and normal and regular supply of various consumer products at expensive prices.<sup id=\"cite_ref-36\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-37\" class=\"mw-ref reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>When availability is high, the displays are then stocked with fruits, dates, dried fruits, peanuts, candles, incense, henna and other supplies that citizens acquire to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration is accompanied by a set of customs and traditions, including the famous preparation of a couscous
